BTS saved me through the pandemic!

Music has always been an important part of my life. I was always in the choir and I played the flute for about 10 years through school. My first “group crush” was The Monkees! Yes, I know, most of you are asking who? My name is Vickie, and I am 66 years young. I first saw BTS when they were very young. I don’t remember what show they were on or what song they sang and danced to, but I remember I liked them! But as life goes, mine got unbelievably busy with my mother’s illness and baby grandchildren. Somewhere in there, along with my family, I started listening to country music.

Fast forward to March 30, 2020. BTS was on a show hosted by James Corden. The pandemic had just started, and they were quarantined together in SK. They performed in one of their practice rooms, but they were awesome! They sang and danced their hearts out to BOY WITH LUV, and I fell in “LUV” instantly even though I couldn’t understand a word they said. They were all amazing performers, but I couldn’t take my eyes off the tall, thin one all in black! JK is still my bias to this day!

I needed to know their names and all I could find out about them.  It didn’t take long, and I fell hard and fast down the rabbit hole!  I thought I would have a hard time with the quarantine, and my whole family felt the same way, but for me, it was just the opposite.  I heard a lot of people were having trouble with depression and anxiety, however, I enjoyed staying home!  I had so much BTS music to listen to and so much to read about them that I was having a good time!  I watched RUN episodes and concerts on our fire stick!   All my family (husband, two daughters, sister and grandchildren) agree that BTS saved me through the pandemic!  I found BTS and an ARMY of new friends just when I needed them!  The last several months have been the happiest!  IBIS (my Twitter DM) has made me feel welcome and now they are part of my family too. 💜  There is no better feeling!
