A Not so Special, Special Story

I don’t think I have a big story of how I became an army, but for me it will always be special.

I remember it was when I was at one of the lowest points of my life, both mentally and physically. I have a skin condition called “Atopic Dermatitis” and I was going through a really bad flare up. My health kept deteriorating and nothing seemed to be going my way. My mental health was in a really bad state too and everything around me just made me so sad.

I always knew about BTS and had heard a few songs too but never got invested as a fan before.

But for some reason, this time, even amidst all my pain, something about them called out to me. I remember one day out of nowhere, my curiousity took control of me and I wanted to learn their names, so I took my very first step towards the “rabbit hole”.

I searched for their names, their videos, their music, and I found myself smiling again, I felt happy. Their videos were the only thing that could make me smile at that time and as I went deeper and deeper into their music and the lyrics, as I learnt more about their personalities, the messages they wanted to convey, the more I fell in love.

I’ve been an army for a year and a half now and I’ve truly enjoyed every moment of it. I’ve learnt so much about life, about love, about happiness, about what it means to be a better person not only for yourself but for the people around you, and I have both BTS and ARMY to thank for it all.

Thank you BTS for coming into my life, I will always regret not finding you sooner but my love for you which might’ve started late will continue on forever 💜
